A brief history…
Belmonte’s journey began in 1974 on Claremont Road, Moss Side, Manchester, initially refurbishing typewriters to accommodate the growing number of students at Manchester Universities in need of affordable thesis solutions. Typewriters back then were fairly basic and lacked personality, so we decided to brighten them up with vibrant metallic shades such as gold, yellow, orange, and blue, making this transformation a resounding success.
Des, who was a typewriter engineer, operated across Manchester, mainly within law firms and at the Daily Mirror offices. In 1977, the business moved to Gorton and evolving with the times began repairing, servicing, and refurbishing electronic typewriters, especially IBM and Canon models. The IBM ‘Golfball’ typewriter was ground-breaking at the time and featured a sphere instead of the conventional type bar ‘qwerty’ keyboard. Providing exceptional service was vital for maintaining these machines and prolonging their lifespan. During this time, we also became an official Canon Main Dealer, concentrating on supply and refurbishment of office equipment.
In 1987, we relocated to Stockport to accommodate our growing needs, expanding our product range to include copiers, fax machines, printers, and multi-function printers (MFPs). With a team of specialised engineers, we started to extend our services throughout the UK. Refurbishment and recycling have always been central to Belmonte’s values, and we further diversified our product range by becoming an Official HP Business Partner, venturing into the large format sector.
We supplied and installed HP Technical and Graphical printers, primarily for architects and CAD designers, alongside Signage providers for posters, banners, and Graphics. Since moving to our larger facility in Stockport in 2010, we have proudly established ourselves as the leading refurbishment centre for HP Latex Printers in the UK.

We recently ordered a fully refurbished and HP 365 LATEX Wide format printer and an associated Mimaki Cutter machine. The service from Belmonte has been outstanding with their install service also providing training on the new equipment. Where we had a small issue with a switch on the new kit - this was replaced by a separate visit the following day. As always top service from Des and the team at Belmonte. Given our plotter was 20+ years old and finding consumables and spare parts was becoming near impossible it was about time we got new kit. We worked with Des on our requirements and a typical week for the in-house plotter and settled on the HP Z9+ as it would give us vivid graphics with the added bonus of the horizontal and vertical cutters which would save us a lot or manual cutting. Installation wasn't quite an easy one, as the old plotter needed to move down 7 floors, and the new one up but without the aid of a lift. With help from the engineer and our in-house porters we got it in position. The new machine had been configured and tested off-site so made the installation quick and easy. Des and everybody at Belmonte went above and beyond to help me get a fantastic printer when my old one died half way through an urgent job. Even when I turned up in the wrong size van we managed to work a way of getting it in so I could get it back. Would highly recommend, and when the time comes will definitely go back to them for my next purchase.

I have just recently purchased a latex printer from Belmonte, we were having a few teething issues with it as you would with any machine but they were very helpful and sent a guy down to iron out the issues we were having. Very pleased and I would recommend them to anyone else.
Had a great experience with Belmonte from start to finish (and beyond). They were very flexible and accommodating during the initial stages. More than happy for us to to visit their showroom and see the equipment in action and all our questions were answered (and more). They were patient and understanding while we decided; not at all pushy and we didn’t feel rushed. Delivery and installation was quick & thorough and we were kept informed every step of the way. Any snags or issues that came up were dealt with immediately and communication was excellent throughout. Having had the equipment for a little while now I can also speak to the value of their aftercare. The support has been excellent when inevitable issues arise and their warranty and subsequent service care has provide peace of mind and rapid responses to technical issues. Both the virtual (phone/email) and ‘in person’ support has been reliable, quick and thorough. Based on my experience I wouldn’t have any hesitations in recommending Belmonte for equipment purchase and/or service care & repair.

Highly recommended company. From first contact through machine delivery and aftersales care, Belmonte have been first class, always going the extra mile. Delivery was not easy due to limited access, but Andy went above and beyond to get the job done.
My printer went pop and I was urgently trying to source another... Wasn't in the position to get a new one so had to look at a refurbished one. Got in contact with Des and him and his team have been brilliant throughout! gave me a lot of their time, and also walked me through payment options. Bought a Latex printer form Belmonte, Des was very helpful and gave sound advice, install was 1 week from purchase and machine was up and running its first production job within hours of install. We recently dipped our toe in the large format market and after a bit of our own research and some very helpful advice from Belmonte we purchased a HP L310 from them. We checked around before purchasing and Belmonte offered the best option for us with a price that worked for us too. Des was very helpful seeing as we knew nothing about this market. Printer was delivered on time and has been pretty busy since installed. We seem to be getting more and more work for it as the word gets out we have one. Fantastic service all around! Purchased a refurbished HP L360 from Belmonte and from start to finish the process was fantastic. Des has a huge knowledge of printers and their component parts and it pays to listen to him in this regard. We had a small issue with a sensor clip breaking late on a Friday night, Des then arranged for an engineer to come out first thing Monday morning,meaning we had no down time use of the printer . It was a very safe buying option to purchase from Belmonte as their engineers are first class and are there for the life time of the printer when needed! This will be our only printer supplier in the future!
